I am Kyle James Walker. I work at Zefr as a Distinguished Data Engineer, and a partner and organizer of Data Con LA. This website contains a collection of some of my open source projects.
Most of these exist because there either wasn't a tool that matched what I wanted, or it was a fun way to expand one of my hobbies, or I just wanted to see how much work it would take to build. The presenting tools were built for Data Con LA, or came out of running the conference.
How the things here work
The apps run entirely in your browser. There is no account, no upload and no server doing the work. Close the tab and nothing of yours is left anywhere but your own machine.
The projects are on GitHub under the MIT license.
This site
Built with Astro and Tailwind, deployed to GitHub Pages. Every app in it is a self-contained project: copy its directory out of the repository, run npm install && npm run dev, and it works with nothing of this site attached. That is enforced in CI, not just intended.
The photograph in the header is a stack of sugar cubes, lit from three sides. I took it in 2015.
